WPIRG Cinema Politica
Launched in the fall of 2010, WPIRG Cinema Politica is a non-profit initiative started by students and community members in Kitchener-Waterloo. Our aim is to show films that are accessible to various communities within the region, from downtown Kitchener to uptown Waterloo, as well as on campus at the University of Waterloo. Our goal is to screen films in alternative venues, from cafes to galleries, and community centres to theatres. We screen independent political films that challenge conventional narratives and that explore under-represented stories and characters.
Our chapter was founded by and receives support from WPIRG.
