SYNOPSIS:

YOU DON’T LIKE THE TRUTH – 4 days inside Guantánamo is a documentary based on security camera footage from the Guantánamo Bay prison.

A poorly recorded video starts. The door of the interrogation room opens. Behind table a young prisoner in chains and dressed in orange sits waiting. Two men and a woman enter the cell:

Man 1: How’s your English?
Omar Khadr: Good.
Man 1: It is good, eh?
Omar Khadr: Yeah
Man 1: Look the reason we’re down here, we’re wanted to talk to you for a couple of days
Omar Khadr: OK
Man 1: Talk to you about a bunch of things.
Omar Khadr: No problem
Man 1: You’re good with that?
Omar Khadr: Yes.
Man 1: So I guess we’re the first Canadians you’ve seen in a while?
Omar Khad: Canadians?
Man 1: Yeah
Omar Khadr: Finally! (laughs)

This encounter between a team of Canadian intelligence agents and Omar Khadr, a child detainee in Guantánamo, has never before been seen. Based on seven hours of video footage recently declassified by the Canadian courts this documentary delves into the unfolding high-stakes game of cat and mouse between captor and captive over a four day period. Maintaining the surveillance camera style this film analyzes the political, legal and scientific aspects of a forced dialogue.
