A Grassy Evening

Wednesday, July 13th 7pm

Queen Street Commons Café (43 Queen Street South)

Join WPIRG and the KW Indigenous Solidarity Action Group for a free screening of ‘As Long as the River Flows’ and a Q&A with Taina DaSilva (Grassy Narrows Blockader) and a TBA Grassy Narrows Supporter.

In December 2002, the indigenous youth of Grassy Narrows began laying down in the path of industrial logging trucks, blocking their access to traditional lands and sparking what has become the longest standing blockade in Canadian History.

Produced by Dave Clement of Thunder Bay Indymedia, ‘As Long as the River Flows: The Story of the Grassy Narrows Blockade’ documents the story of the blockade and shows the struggle for environmental justice and self-determination that Grassy Narrows First Nation is a part of.
