Feminist Zine Distro

Through DIY (do-it-yourself) critical analysis, the Feminist Zine Distro aims to provide resources that promote and encourage feminism in everyday life, with the ultimate goal of making our communities informed, safe(r) spaces. We acknowledge that this is more of a dream than a goal, and it will be impossible to achieve without determination, intention and commitment from everyone; however, we feel a zine distro is a mobile and effective way of engaging people and connecting them with resources that foster the awareness and understanding necessary to create the kind of communities we want to live in. Our group aims to be active in stimulating discussion, telling stories, sharing experiences, and exploring issues that affect those who identify as women.

Our feminism challenges oppression in all of its forms and actively opposes the institutions that reinforce and perpetuate patriarchy in our society. We want people to empower themselves and to take back control of their bodies. One way we hope to assist female-bodied people in this endeavor is by providing affordable menstruation care (e.g. diva Cups) and access to information (such as fertility awareness) that we were never taught in school.

The distro is committed to ensuring that the zines we distribute take into account the myriad of intersections of oppression and come from authors of a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
