Climate Action Project
Our mission is to engage University of Waterloo students and the community in exploring solutions to climate change and demanding that our government take decisive action. As the government of Canada has failed to meet its Kyoto Protocol emissions reduction targets, received international condemnation for its environmental record and stance at climate negotiations, and is not showing the leadership necessary to transition to a low carbon economy, it is vitally important that as Canadians we act. In the past the group has organized a rally in support of climate change action, met with local politicians, supported petition campaigns, held a flashmob and turned it into a YouTube video, and held other events.
